“Your lips would look great wrapped around my…”
Who in the world tells a girl that on their first meeting? Tyler Locklin, that’s who. He’s filthy rich and arrogant with a set of abs that is the envy of all young men everywhere, and did I forget to mention devilishly handsome? He’s a bastard of the first order. I can’t stand to be in the same room with him.
But with one wink or a flash of his mischievous grin, I go weak in the knees. It pisses me off. I’m supposed to hate him. He’s an asshole. Yet, I can’t help but be drawn to him because I’m . . . ADDICTED.

Review

This was was an okay read. The main characters had their good points individually. The hero sometimes came across as tactless and unfiltered. But he was an okay alpha male hero who entertained me, so I have no complaints there. The heroine was also enjoyable to read.

For a stepbrother/stepsister book, this wasn’t too taboo because that fact didn’t factor in when they first fell for each other. It’s steamy, but not over-the-top. It’s not really that amazing, but it’s not so bad either.

Aidan Hughes
I was cruel to Deidre La Russo. Said things I should never say to a woman. Seen things happen to her. Things darker than the bottle of liquor I consume. I felt helpless. Defeated. The memories are more tortuous than the act of her torture. Then she walks back into my life, only she's not alone.
Deidre La Russo
I have my reasons for leaving. I lived through hell. I was beaten, tortured. Drugged. I have secrets. I have to tell them. Danger brought us all together. Danger may rip us apart.

Review

I am proud to say that I actually followed this series. From Cain to Roan and now with Aidan. I liked Cain’s book. It was sad in the beginning, but it got very exciting towards the end. The second book was personally better for me. I guess it’s because I liked Roan better than I liked Cain. I was really looking forward to this book because it feels like the thrill and excitement just keeps getting up every time.

The Syndicate is a really good series. This book alone gives readers a heroine that’s a fighter and a survivor. It’s sometimes hard to imagine our perfect little heroines coming from the dark side, living a dark life. But that’s this book’s heroine. The most important thing about her is that she came out on top. After everything she went through, she showed that she’s tough where and when it matters. The hero was swoon-worthy. It’s illogical, but it’s hard not to root for him.

I really like Kathy Coopman’s style of writing a mafia series. It’s not too bloody or hopeless. There’s just enough romance, violence, and conflict for readers to enjoy. But it never goes over the top for readers to feel like there’s no redemption anymore. I will definitely be watching out for more books from this series.

Roan Diamond’s loyalty to the family may be obligated by blood, but nobody ever said he had to love them all, right? As the next in line to head the Diamond dynasty, he has loose ends to take care of, and one of those is his brother Royal. Yet his plans for revenge fall apart the minute he lays eyes on Alina—Royal’s ex-girlfriend, who also happens to be the daughter of the rival Solokov family.
As a mafia princess, Alina Solokov knew it wouldn’t be easy when she made the decision ten years ago to leave the family for a new life at a college in England—but betrayal is often a dish served cold by those who you love the most. Now, back in the United States after a job offer that she couldn’t refuse, her new found strength is pushed to the limits when Royal returns to claim her for his own.
When the man who captures her heart amongst the chaos is front and center in a lifestyle she swore never to return to, can she hold her ground and fight being sucked back into the black hole that is the mafia underworld? Or will Roan’s love be worth the ultimate sacrifice?

Review

I’ve loved Roan since he and Calla was held captive in the first book. I admired his loyalty and his courage. He was so different from his own brother. It’s difficult to believe they are even related. I enjoyed Cain and Calla, but I think that Roan and Alina are my favorite. For one, Roan wasn’t a cheater like Cain. Justify it all you like, but it still doesn’t change the fact that Cain cheated on Calla on their wedding day. Whatever his reasons were, there were other ways of letting her go. Roan, on the other hand, he has suffered a lot under his brother’s cruelty, and so did Alina.

I like the dark vibe of the book. I also like the chemistry between the characters. I already love Roan. But I am more than glad that I fell in love with Alina too. All the things she’s been through were difficult and a lesser person would not have moved on and lived her life the way she did. This installment really solidified the series. If you’ve read the first book, you should definitely read this as well. Once you’ve read this, I’m sure you will just as excited as me to proceed to the next book right away.

Will These Bitter Enemies End Their Families Feud by joining together?
Freya
Maxim Ivankov is the devil incarnate. With the fierce blood of Mongolian conquerors running through his veins he is pitiless. From the time I was a child, I knew he was my enemy, and I have always hated him with a shocking intensity. Now my father wants me to marry him. I cannot say no to my father. No one says no to him, not if they wish to live. I may be his daughter, but his honor is more important than my life. So I will marry that heartless brute. Yes, he is beautiful, with piercing blue eyes and raven black hair, but I will not bend to him. I will not share his bed, and I will not bear him children. Our marriage will be more barren than the wild landscapes his ancestors rode across when they came to conquer our lands.
Maxim
I have watched her from afar for many, many years. Those flame colored locks tumbling down her delicate shoulders, that creamy-white neck when it is stretched and exposed. I have imagined how it will feel when she offers herself to me and I am inside her. She despises me, but now she will bear my name and be mine.I will make her call my name. I will make her get on her pretty, little knees and beg me to take her. I will be her last thought when she goes to sleep and the first when her eyes open. I will fill her belly with my seed.

Review

One thing I enjoy about Georgia Le Carre’s books is that they are always steamy. The hero is always an alpha, and the heroines always give as good as they get. This book doesn’t disappoint in the steam and chemistry aspects. The reason I’m rating this only 3 is because the plot has become formulaic. I’ve read several books from her, and I know that some of them have more depth and character development, so while this book is pretty entertaining, I know that I’ve read better books from her. If you are looking for a good book to pass the time, this one here is a good one to start with. It has sex, kidnapping, an arranged marriage, and a round of meddlesome family members that mean well. What’s not to like?

From New York Times bestselling author Kristen Callihan comes a smart, emotional contemporary romance about finding love with the most unlikely of people.
As kids, they hated each other. Macon Saint was beautiful, but despite his name, Delilah knew he was the devil. That he dated her slightly evil sister, Samantha, was no picnic either. When they broke up, it was a dream come true: Delilah never had to see him again.
Ten years later, her old enemy sends a text.
Delilah's sister has stolen a valuable heirloom from Macon, now a rising Hollywood star, and he intends to collect his due. One problem: Sam has skipped town.
Sparks still sizzle between Macon and Delilah, only this heat feels alarmingly like unwanted attraction. But Delilah is desperate to keep her weak-hearted mother from learning of her sister's theft. So she proposes a deal: she'll pay off the debt by being Macon's personal chef and assistant.
It's a recipe for disaster, but Macon can't stop himself from accepting. Even though Delilah clearly hates him, there's something about her that feels like home. Besides, they're no longer kids, and what once was a bitter rivalry has the potential to be something sweeter. Something like forever.

Review

This book is a sweet enemies-to-lovers story. It started out following a predictable formula. Characters were introduced. Conflict was laid out. Secondary characters were given a few moments to shine. But surprisingly, there are a few warm and emotion-inducing moments in this book that I actually really liked. This is not the first book I’ve read from Ms. Callihan. I know that she writes sexy characters but don’t engage in too much sex scenes, so this book is not going to be your racy, titillating read. However, it is a story that any romance reader will definitely enjoy. The hero, while he was an inexcusable bully when he was younger, there were still instances where you can see that he was a conflicted young boy who couldn’t understand his feelings. This, in no way, excuses bullying. This also doesn’t promote the belief that boys are mean to the girls they like. In fact, if there’s a takeaway here, it’s the fact that we should always be honest with our emotions because sometimes, the small things we ignore, may rob us years of happiness.
